Making a Stand in Macau
Saturday, 8 December 2012

Macau Stand returned to form with a hollow victory in the Stockwell Rating Hcp (1700m) at Taipa on Friday evening.

The King Of Prussia gelding has now won six races since arriving in Macau in July 2008.  He raced here as Kaiser Impact and won a Terang maiden by three lengths for trainer Shane Stockdale.

Macau Stand (8g King Of Prussia - Let Her Dance by Rhythm) was overdue after being caught wide for the majority of his penultimate run last month.  Champion hoop Manoel Nunes took over on Friday and, after a bumpy start, the result was never in danger as they raced away to win by more than three lengths.

Macau Stand was bred by Adam Trescowthick in partnership with the Higgins family.  He’s from a NZ bred half-sister to the dam of Perth stakes winner New World Order (Defensive Play).  It’s the family of G1 Auckland Cup winner Kia Maia (Shy Boy).

King Of Prussia (Anabaa) has been represented by 107 winners of 322 races at a 57% strike-rate.  He stands at Greta West Stud for a $2,750 (inc gst) service fee.
