Planning a new life in Launceston
Thursday, 18 October 2018

Master Of Design mare Party Planner has a new lease of life since returning from a serious leg injury a fortnight ago.

The Tasmanian-based mare controlled a 1200m Launceston maiden on October 3 and was just as dominant in a Class 1 over the same course and distance on Wednesday evening.  Settled just behind the speed by Anthony Darmanin second-up, she peeled off heels and won eased down by a half-length from Orphanali (Dash For Cash).

“She bowed a tendon and I put her out for a year,” trainer Graeme McCulloch revealed.  “We didn’t bother with stem-cell treatment and such - time is the best remedy for tendons.”

Party Planner (pictured) is by Greta West Stud stallion Master Of Design and is the final foal of Tea Party (USA) who was bred in Kentucky by Lane’s End Farm owner Will Farish.  She was sent to England and won at Goodwood and Wolverhampton (2) before being exported to New Zealand.

Tea Party (Night Shift) foaled Hong Kong winner Summerville Power (Zabeel) at Ra Ora Stud and then crossed the Tasman where she delivered another five winners for Tara Farm owner David Neate.

Party Planner was passed-in at the 2015 Tasmanian Magic Millions when offered through McCullochs’s consignment from Grenville Stud.  Retained by Neate, she ran seconds in her first two starts at Devonport in July 2017 prior to being sidelined.

Neate also bred Devonport winner Gucci Guccimo, another daughter of Master Of Design who stands for a $4,400 (inc GST) service fee at Greta West Stud.
